Generative AI can learn from existing artifacts to generate new, realistic artifacts (at scale) that reflect the characteristics of the training data but do not replicate them. It can create a variety of new content such as images, video, music, speech, text, program code, and product design. To identify GenAI opportunities, experienced organizations create ongoing AI self-service and literacy programs to raise awareness, expand knowledge, and build a dynamic, iterative process to methodically gather ideas and use cases.

Targeted multidisciplinary teams then use frameworks (e.g., Gartner AI Opportunity Radar ) to test and compare ideas based on business value and feasibility.
